9,01 € There were times I was certain at times she switched what tense she was writing in!Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 18, 2019 I love the covers, too!

Generally, I prefer my books to be less whimsical and involve at least some brain action so I believed this would not merit an outstanding grade.

The wild girl takes an adderstone love token left by a woman with the name William on it.

It also would be a great companion piece to early colonial American lit as I found myself thinking of THE CRUCIBLE and other works about the American wilds and the magic that once lived here. As every line is written, Joan Harris convinces me she is the best writer alive today. I'm so glad I did!

And it seems only revenge will be powerful enough to let her escape. Please try againSorry, we failed to record your vote. Joanne Harris has added her charm to this tale and I found it refreshingly unique.   That's how I felt about this book. 8,19 € She’d be a perfect person to tell such a story

After a couple of dud books in a row, it was good to get back to my guilty pleasure of, I suppose, dark fairy tales. The prose was beautiful at the beginning, but it felt like the author gave up half way through.

The Blue Salt Road balances passion and loss, love and violence and draws on nature and folklore to weave a stunning modern mythology around a nameless, wild young man.Passion drew him to a new world, and trickery has kept him there – without his memories, separated from his own people.

i would love too re-read this in the autumn it has that feel too perfect for a october night's read.

The book itself is a lovely piece filled with illustrations and poetry and reading it was a pleasure.   The Child Ballads, 295)So begins a beautiful tale of love, loss and revenge.   8,93 €

Written in three frenzied weeks following a visit to Skye, A POCKETFUL OF CROWS is a short novel, loosely inspired by the Child Ballad, no.   I came across A Pocketful of Crows and knew it would be the different book I needed.

On the other hand, I think I missed out on the illustrations that accompany the printed version.I am glad I listened to this one as the author reads it herself and if she ever wants to stop writing books she will definitely get work as an audio narrator. A simple story on the surface but on with layers, the main story mearly feeding into a larger story.Received to review via Netgalley; publication date 19th October 2017Received to review via Netgalley; publication date 19th October 2017A dark, whimsical tale about why you should never let someone tame you if you’re a wild thing. 14,64 €

An enjoyable novella nonetheless. 11,47 € Following the seasons, A Pocketful of Crows balances youth and age, wisdom and passion and draws on nature and folklore to weave a stunning modern mythology around a nameless wild girl. Beautiful, ethereal, otherworldly. It's based on a story from British folklore - the Bonny Brown Girl - and it made me see the tale from a totally different point of view. A beautiful and quick read.   I got this after reading the blue salt road and so far I’m enjoying it just as much. This is the perfect fairytale – love, obsession, revenge and dark magic blended together in a delightful fable.

As for the story itself, it has everything you could want from a fairytale.
