Originally, there were a couple of different closing credits for Dad’s Army. Filming took place from 10 August to 25 September 1970 at The film's UK première was on 12 March 1971 at the Columbia Theatre, London.

With Arthur Lowe, John Le Mesurier, Clive Dunn, John Laurie. One of the actors in Dad's Army, John Laurie, also appeared in that film and his performance in the end credits of The Way Ahead appears to be copied in the sitcom.
