Viewing areas were clean and neat. Ample parking, $3.00 to go up and take a look at flowing waterfalls. It was only $5.00.

Many swimming holes have been in use for generations, just chat up a local at the general store, a gas station or fast food restaurant.

We drove the Kancamangus Highway for the scenic value and stopped at several spots along the way. It has a slight grade. TOP SWIMMING HOLES IN THE WHITE MOUNTAINS Through my experiences in writing the three editions of the New England Waterfalls: A Guide to More Than 500 Cascades & Waterfalls guidebook, I have created this online list showcasing the premier swimming holes in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and Maine.

The picnic areas are very well kept and clean. The final point is a beautifully waterfall. Some spots are deep so be careful and if the water level is high the current can be quite strong so I suggest going when the water levels are on the lower level if you have children. So glad we did! This one is definitely a gem! Have to pay for parking, and thats ok, because the trail in is very well maintained. If you want to take an easy short walk, this is the place to go to, along with great waterfalls :) :) :0This is the version of our website addressed to speakers of We did not see a single moose, but, it was worth the drive anyway. Very scenic, lots of beautiful scenary and they say this is the road to see moose on.

I would definitely go back for sure to swim there again! The kids will love. I would definitely recommend this drive at least once for the scenic overlooks alone. Most of the people we encountered were friendly.

Diana's Baths: Great swimming hole and beautiful photo ops!

Very peaceful.

Great natural beauty and photo ops. There is a $3.00 fee per day for access to any of the national forest sites. The streams and falls are beautiful to just look at and put your feet into the cold, clear mountain water.

My husband suggested we go to Diana's Baths and we spent a few hours there enjoying the fresh, cool mountain water.
