With no script, TDBG tailors your tour to your group for the most intimate and alternative tour in the city. In addition to the expected city center sights, Joe showed us unexpected beauty just outside of where Trip Advisor told us to go. Highly recommend Dan to keep the night going. Those Dam Boat Guys canal ride was the very first thing we did when we got to Amsterdam and it was the right choice!! Our host/driver was polite and professional. Check the weather in advance and dress appropriately...the weather can change quickly in Amsterdam. Ollie was our captain and he was friendly, welcoming, and had a ton of knowledge about the city. Useful. Dave our guide gave us a custom cruise down small canals and busy river ways. I was able to see the lights on the canals better from where I was sitting but there were people on our boat that had a much diminished view from the front of the boat because of the plastic panels to block the rain. Open boats in summer. I thoroughly recommend this tour if you want something other than the boring touristy tours you see everywhere.Holy hell, my only regret is not taking this tour my FIRST day in town. Fun, funny, informal, off the beaten path. Our tour consisted of a total of 4 guests and the Captain, so much more personable this way.

Our captain--perhaps he was new, or a sub/understudy--said scant few words during the 80-minute tour. We loved the fact that we had a female organizing the tour and we had a female captain on the boat.

He had a couple jokes but was otherwise extremely demure. They also had good measures in place for social distancing. We had an amazing time with captain Leeroy! She was hilarious, informative and also hilarious. Wife was a bit irked at the don't be a dick lecture at the end...but we do agree with it but as adults don't need to be told.
This was, as you should already know something different. Everything the other five-star reviews holds true.

!Loved this tour! Join us on the beautiful canals of this magical city for 90 minutes, having a conversation with your knowledgeable, friendly guide.

Plus these guys are genuine and funny and personable and it's such a pleasurable ride.. doesn't feel cheesy or touristy!! You can cancel 48 hours in advance. Captain Ollie was indeed charming and attentive captain introducing everyone and had many amusing comments and insights. !Those Dam Boat Guys canal ride was the very first thing we did when we got to Amsterdam and it was the right choice!!

He knew his stuff and was personable and delightful.Such a fun and different experience and our captain Gideon was awesome! This tour was awesome! It was a veryReally great way to spend a couple of hours seeing more of the lesser known/used canals.

He shared history, cultural stories, and gave us a clear picture of Amsterdam past and present!

if you don't prefer the smell of smoke- cigarette or marijuana maybe choose a different tour though. Funny.

He even stopped for photos several times and was willing to take the pictures for us!Excellent canal tour! I look forward to going back and doing the tour again someday! My wife and I booked a canal tour with Those Dam Boat Guys and loved it! The tour guide was amazing, so much incredible knowledge about the city. We had "Capt"Neil, evidently one of the owners. Similarly, this last weekend I had two friends in town, we ended up with a great group and all 10 of us headed to a bar after the boat trip along with Cpt. It was way more casual and more like a floating happy hour than an educational tour, but that was exactly what I was looking for.

and it was contagious. By far the best tour I've had anywhere abroad.

This very much has the feel of a chill, small boat experience, and if you happen to have a group of friends to fill the boat, that would add to the fun.My favorite thing we've done in Amsterdam.

Cameron was our guide and he did great.

Quinta is next door and offers 20% off alcoholic beverages if you are on the tour. But TDBG isn't just any old 'dam tour. 976 reviews. Totally worth it and they are knowledgeable guides I learned so much! The boat had a transparent cover in case of rain (heaters also if needed) but we luckily had a gorgeous day. We were able to see a good deal of the city and hear interesting background about various landmarks and the city in general.

You found us! You won't want it to end- trust me;)These guys offer an awesome tour and awesome experience. You're also welcome to smoke whatever you like. And Neil the manager would rather ridicule its customers than that any kind of criticisms!! My friends and I really enjoyed learning about Amsterdam and just chatting with our boat mates for about an hour. Not relaxing at all. Our tour guide, Gideon, was super knowledgeable about the history of the area. The tour is BYOB and plastic cups are provided!

You're also welcome to smoke whatever you like. Join us on the beautiful canals of this magical city for 90 minutes, having a conversation with your knowledgeable, friendly guide. If you want all the history you can definitely ask your captain, but we enjoyed socializing with him and other passengers with some wine and snacks that we brought on board. The city was built for water travel, after all! You get some great views and the fun perspective of actually being in the canals without any of the stuffiness and formality of the other tourist boat tours.Let me start by saying I've done this tour 3 times in the last 3 months.
